About us

Hidayah Amin, fondly known to family members as Cik Idah, was born and grew up in Gedung Kuning. She is the owner, researcher, writer and webmaster of www.gedungkuning.com.

A passionate and determined woman, Hidayah was educated in the National University of Singapore and at the prestigious Sciences-Po Paris. She was the first Malay Girl Guide to receive the President's Guide Award.

Hidayah was a Fulbright Scholar at Lehigh University in the United States of America where she was awarded the Master of Science degree. She was also a recipient of the Alpha Delta Kappa Foundation's International Teacher Education Scholarship as well as the Tan Kah Kee Postgraduate Scholarship 2006. She interned pro-bono at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City for 6 months after her graduate studies.

Hidayah travels widely and adventurously, from the hamlets of Morocco to the Everest region. She divides her time between her career as a Producer & Educator; with family, community work, humanitarian expeditions, and pursuing her latest goals.

God willing, Hidayah hopes to set up Gedung Kuning Foundation that will administer the Hidayah Amin & Nusantara Scholarships as well as the Asia Jofrie Free Clinic.
